Seafaring Style

Demin Shirt: Caslon  Striped Shirt: Pull and Bear  Skirt: Devlin  Sunglasses: Ray Ban
Tote: Ross  Sandals: Dolce Vita  Jewelry: J Crew, Michael Kors, & Tasha

There's nothing better than a day at sea. It's a wonderful feeling to be cruising through the waves, wind in your hair, and the sunshine sparkling on the water. I also happen to love nautical inspired clothing. I have a very serious collection of striped shirts, scarves, and even purses. There is something so classic and carefree about nautical-inspired clothes. I have never cared much for prints, but I think stripes are a good alternative. On the right article of clothing and in the right proportions they can give any look that extra something. With summer right around the corner it's the perfect time to pick up a couple seafaring items for your summer wardrobe. Whether it's top-siders, a boat-neck top, or white pants, you'll be looking nautical in no time.

Tea Time

Dress: Diane Von Furstenberg  Hat: Scala Necklace: Banana Republic
Sunglassas: Christian Dior  Clutch: YSL

Some of my favorite childhood memories involve having tea. I absolutely loved getting dressed up, putting on a giant hat, and holding a delicate porcelain cup full of tea. To this day I still love a good tea party. For an event that's so feminine and fun I wore a Diane Von Furstenberg wrap dress, my favorite oversized hat, and strings of pearls secured by a jeweled brooch. Fashion should always been fun at an event like a tea party. Throw on your most glamorous hat, statement jewelry, and top if off with some old Hollywood sunglasses or bright colored lips to make your tea time fashion time.

Bohemian Style

Shirt: Vince  Vest: Premise  Shorts: Joe's  Shoes: Unlisted  Sunglasses: Ray Ban
Watch: Michael Kors  Necklaces: Nordstrom  Ring: Vintage

My style tends to be pretty conservative, but sometimes I just want to put flowers in my hair and throw on some jean shorts. There is something so refreshing about the bohemian style. I tend to go for more classic pieces, but sometime's it's fun to play with layering and accessories. Lately I've been drawn to really oversized pieces, like this flowy Vince top and my favorite draped vest. I had a lot of fun experimenting with this style and getting to try out some new accessories. For jewelry I really love big statement pieces like men's watches, chunky rock rings, and long gold necklaces. Take a look at your closet and try layering some pieces you normally wouldn't think go together. It's a great way to reinvent your wardrobe and create new looks.

Garden Party

Dress: Malloy  Vest: Willow & Clay  Hat: F21  Shoes: Jessica Simpson
Necklace: F21  Sunglasses: Michael Kors  Purse: Louis Vuitton

I love spending time outdoors, especially when the weather is agreeable. I recently spent some time strolling through a beautiful garden and had forgotten how wonderful it is to be amongst the flowers and the sunshine. I am normally a very dressy girl, but on this laid back Sunday I decided to go a little more casual. I opted for a grey cotton dress with an undecided hem, my new extra-long military green vest, gold sandals, and a floppy hat. On my more casual weekend outings I always grab my Louis Vuitton Neverfull because it can fit absolutely everything and is so durable I never have to worry about it. With the warmer weather and spring in the air it's been nice to leave the heels in my closet and go for fashionable comfort. Here's to casual Sundays and taking time to smell the flowers.

Sequins and Stilettos

Dress: Madison Marcus Shoes: Sam Edelman  Clutch: Sondra Roberts  Polish: Honk If You Love OPI

Getting ready for a night out is one of my favorite things to do. I am a girl who loves fashion, makeup, and grooming. Nothing makes me feel better than a flattering black dress, heels, and a little sparkle. Here are a few of my absolute musts when getting ready for a night out:
  • Give yourself enough time to get ready. Nothing is worse than rushing to straighten your hair or putting on liquid eyeliner. If you are really in a bind throw your hair up in a high bun and use a bright red or fuchsia for your lips.
  • Before you start your makeup routine make sure to exfoliate. I love using products, like Allison Rhonda's brightening scrub, that make your skin glow before you even put a drop of makeup on. Also make sure to moisturize with a great cream and let your primer sit for about 5 minutes before applying foundation.
  • When curling or straightening hair make sure to use a heat guard and afterwards run a shine serum like Fekkai Color-Protecting Glaze through the ends.
  • Make sure nails are neat and polished. If you don't have the time, just buff your nails and apply one coat of clear polish.
  • It's always ideal to have your outfit picked out ahead of time, but if you can't go for your favorites. I always tend to opt for black shifts, embellished tops, and sleek fitted pants.
  • In your clutch don't forget lip gloss, mints, pressed powder, a comb, and travel sized perfume.
Wherever you go or whoever you're going out with your night is guaranteed to be better when you're loving the way you look!
