Birthday Party!

Dress: Vince  Shoes: Glint  Necklace: Tasha

Birthdays are absolutely my favorite occasions! Though my birthday isn't for a few weeks, I decided to celebrate early since I'm heading to Italy soon. I've always loved to get really dressed up on my birthday. This year I decided to match my pink and grey theme by wearing a silver dress by Vince. I fell in love with the shiny material and the shift-like style of the dress. You always have to sparkle on your birthday so I threw on some great party shoes and a statement necklace. For the party we decided to do a nice dinner with everyone having their own place at a set table. For the flowers we used pink roses, star gazers, mums, and a little greenery. I always use short vases with bunched flowers so that people can see each other while they're eating. Balloons are a must for any birthday party and  always look great in photographs. I was lucky enough to have my mother make me an extraordinary chevron three-tiered cake with a pink fondant peony. For extra touches I added some pearls and candles to the table. It was an exceptional birthday party and I feel very fortunate to have such wonderful people to celebrate with!

Engagement Party

Dress: Theory  Shoes: Nine West  Earrings: Nadri  Clutch: Moyna

An engagement party is such a wonderful occasion and I was lucky enough to attend one recently.  Dressing for a special party like this depends on the venue, time of day, and the dress code, if provided. The party I attended was during the day and outside. Since it's still summer I knew it would be warm and decided on a dress. I enjoy wearing bright colors at the end of summer since I won't get many opportunities in the upcoming months. Pairing a bright dress with skin-toned shoes keeps the outfit casual and makes legs look longer. I love to add a little shine with jewelry and a clutch. A beaded clutch in gold or silver goes with almost any outfit and adds some style to the look. Lastly don't forget a gift and a big congratulations to the happy couple!

Casual Night Out

Shirt: Drill Clothing Company  Jeans: Citizens of Humanity  Shoes: Wild Diva  Necklace: Tasha

I always seem to have trouble finding casual outfits to wear. I'm generally pretty girly and love my dresses and heels, but lately I have been working on my casual look. In dressing casual I like to work around one piece. Before I even get ready I have an idea of at least one piece I want to wear. In this case I needed some really comfortable shoes for a standing only concert. Good casual shoes are essential for traveling and events with a lot of walking or standing. My go to casual shoes are boots, sandals, and flats. Nothing is more casual than jeans and a t-shirt. I chose to go with black jeans and a men's jean shirt. This is a trick I picked up in France where women buy men's clothing for a more relaxed and longer fit. Adding one statement piece to a casual look brings the outfit together without overdoing it. With this outfit I chose a sparkling statement necklace to add a little something extra. The most important thing about dressing casual is being comfortable. Look for fabrics and cuts that you feel best in. Feeling great in the clothes you wear is the most important thing of all!
