Weekend Getaway

Jacket: Trina Turk  Blouse: Club Monaco  Shorts: Tory Burch  Shoes: Joan and David  Purse: Vintage  Sunglasses: Ray Ban

Weekend getaways provide great opportunities for trying new looks and utilizing pieces you haven't worn in awhile. Though I love pairing jackets with pants, I've been loving the look of black and white tuxedo jackets paired with shorts for spring. Wearing a sophisticated jacket with shorts and heels creates a look that's fun and chic. I added on some oversize wayfarers and grabbed one of my favorite vintage bags and was all set for my trip. Finding new ways to wear pieces you have will bring life into your closet making items wearable year round.

Work Wear

Coat: Helmut Lang  Dress: Black Halo  Shoes: Sam Edelman Purse: Gianni Chiarini
Necklace: Banana Republic  Ring: Murano Glass Sunglasses: Christian Dior

Creating a polished professional look is all about putting the right pieces together. For fashionable business attire I utilize a lot of high waisted skirts, form fitting knee length dresses, tailored black cigarette pants, and silk blouses. A great investment piece for your work wardrobe is a fashionable, but conservative, fitted black dress. You can wear it with various accessories, coats, and shoes to always make it look fresh. Another great piece to have in your closet is a well-made coat. I recently purchased the Helmut Lang leather and fabric trench featured above and have already worn it to numerous occasions. A chic fitted coat is a staple in any closet and never goes out of style. Since work clothes can be so serious I like to pair my outfits with fun shoes like the Sam Edleman lace up stilettos. They add an extra touch of style to an outfit. Finish the look with some sophisticated jewelry like pearls, enamel beads, or a metal watch with lots of bangles and you're all set. With a fashionable business wardrobe you can take on the workplace and look great doing it!
